Apple has certainly rolled out iOS 6 for all over the world to download via OTA or for manual update in iTunes, but most of the Google dependent apps have been ruled out. This includes Google Maps application which is being replaced with Apple Maps and Youtube application. However, Youtube application is now available for iOS users to download from App Store, but it’s still not universal yet.
That’s why iPad users who have upgraded to iOS 6.0 couldn’t enjoy videos on Youtube in full screen. Undoubtedly, if you want to revert from iOS 6.0 to iOS 5.1.1, there should be a way for you to do it. And definitely SHSH Blobs are one of them which could help even if Apple has closed the downgrading window. According to a blog post from DevTeam, A4 devices (iPhone 4, iPod touch 4th generation) and iPhone 3GS owners can downgrade from iOS 6.0 to iOS 5.1.1 if they had previously saved SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.1.1.
On the other hand, if you have upgraded your iPhone 4S and new iPad accidentally to iOS 6.0, you are stuck on it. There’s no way for you to revert until Apple closes the downgrading window which is usually a day or two. This applies even if you had previously saved SHSH Blobs for these devices when they had iOS 5.1.1 installed on them.
It’s interesting to note that, iPad 2 users could downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 from iOS 6.0 if they have both iOS 4.x and iOS 5.x SHSH Blobs saved. Here, iOS 4.x blobs plays an important role in addition to iOS 5.x. Anyhow, if iOS 4.x SHSH Blobs are missing, iPad 2 users are stuck as well. At the time of writing this post, i believe that the downgrading window is still open from Apple. So you can do it for any device without any restrictions.
Although if you have not upgraded from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6.0 on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 or new iPad, you could still restore them again on iOS 5.1.1 without any error. All the above mentioned rules apply unless you have upgraded to iOS 6.0. As usual, the baseband is upgraded, so unlockers needs to stay away if they rely on software unlocks.
